Video Eyetracker Toolbox™
The Video Eyetracker Toolbox™ allows you to easily add eye
tracking to experiments where the display is a computer monitor.
The Video
Eyetracker itself
is mounted on a rigid EyeLock™ headrest that incorporates the
camera, illumination and optics. The Toolbox functions
provide a kind of 'eye tracker engine' that can be used
with almost
any Windows programming environment to integrate
gaze tracking or fixation monitoring with your existing laboratory
software.
In many cases, however, no programming is required, as the The Video
Eyetracker Toolbox™ is
compatible with GazeTracker™:
a powerful software package that consolidates stimulus presentation,
information synchronisation, data analysis and visualisation. Gazetracker
is not part of the Video Eyetracker Toolbox, but a special package
price is available when they are purchased together.
We also offer a custom table to which the Eyelock headrest can be
firmly mounted, with space for 21" computer
monitor at a wide range of viewing distances. The ergonomic offset
table arrangement comfortably accommodates the subject while
viewing the stimulus
monitor. The powered table lift augments the headrest adjustments
to ensure complete subject comfort.
And, of course, our Video Eyetracker Toolbox integrates with our ViSaGe visual
stimulus generator, so that gaze contingent stimili are no problem.

The system has been designed for vision scientists and experimental
psychologists, and includes facilities which they themselves requested.
- Exceptionally easy to use with minimal configuration requirements
- Very low cost (the entry level system configuration is less than £6000/US$11000/€10000)
- Measures gaze direction or eye rotation
Sophisticated image processing algorithm:
- Intelligent, adaptive and extremely robust to lighting conditions and variations
in individual subjects
- Knowledge Based recognition of image features
- Predictive algorithm uses prior measurements
- No operator adjustments of thresholds are required
Extremely rigid EyeLock™ head + chin rest. Includes integrated:
- IR camera
- IR illumination
- Dichroic mirror
- Ambient light shade
- Transparently controls hardware, performs calibration and acquires eye position
data
Data is available in the following real-time forms:
- X-Y eye position at a specified frequency
- X-Y velocity
- Triggers based upon thresholding any of the data forms
- Integrates with the ViSaGe visual stimulus generator or dual VGA display
for
stimulus display
Applications
Fixation monitoring
- Ensure the subject maintains steady attention to a visual stimulus
Visual scanning & reading experiments
- The Toolbox is a perfect solution for developing software to examine
reading and visual scanning. Its wide range and accuracy are
ideal for measuring fixation patterns.
Gaze contingent displays
- A close integration between the Toolbox and the ViSaGe
visual stimulus generator simplifies the implementation of
eye contingent
displays
- The stimulus position can be readily modified based upon subject
fixation
Oculomotor Research
- When a precise knowledge of fast eye movement dynamics is not required,
the Eyetracker Toolbox is suitable for a wide range of eye movement
recording applications
- For example: smooth pursuit studies
Oculomotor behaviour monitoring
- For experimental paradigms that involve subject eye movements,
eye position can be synchronously monitored with the stimulus presentation
and feedback provided of subject compliance
